Michael Brown, Chair Person
Michael Brown is Founder and CEO of SkillsNET Corporation and the visionary leader of the SkillsNET Foundation. Mr. Brown has over 26 years of business experience developing partnerships with Fortune 1000 companies such as: the United States Navy, United States Department of Labor, AT&T, General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Thomas & Betts and Graybar Electric, helping them optimize their workforces. In addition, Mr. Brown has over 15 years of cognitive science experience in the areas of skill standard systems, and the integration of these areas with the United States Department of Labor’s O*NET framework. Recognized across industry as an expert in the domain of skills standards, Mr. Brown has developed strong ties with both private and public sector organizations through participation on various task forces and advisory boards. Mr. Brown has lent his expertise to groups such as the Texas Skill Standards Board, the Task Force on Adult Education Accountability, the Blue Ribbon Review Board, and the National Rural Development Partnership (NRDP) Task Force on Rural Workforce Development. 

Darrell Sandall, Treasurer
Darrel is President and Applied Science Chair for SkillsNET’s SkillObjects Technologies, Darrel oversees new technology development and implementation of the science surrounding SkillObjects efforts. He has worked in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology and managed numerous nationwide SkillObject metadata commercial and research projects that focused on optimizing workforce development. Darrel has served as project director for many internal SkillObject development, skill standard and data collection projects to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and profitability for organizations, some of which include: the United States Navy, several state-wide efforts in the Telecommunications, Law Enforcement, Mining, and State Government industry sectors, and numerous national efforts including the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Darrel holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and a M.S. degree from the University of Illinois, both in Human Resource Development.

Robert Landis
Robert is a private software development and database architecture contractor, supporting corporations and organizations with analyses and application solutions.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Geneva College and a Master of Science from University of Texas at Arlington. Robert has over 10 years experience in engineering design and management experience along with eight years of software development. He specializes in Database Architecture, Applications Design, and Program Management. He has consulted for and contracted with companies such as: Los Alamos National Laboratory, Fox Sports Networks, Fidelity National Title, and SABRE. Robert will provide the Foundation with software development and database architecture support.

Carl Lavallais
Carl is the Associate Pastor of Business and Development for the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas. He is responsible for planning, conducting and evaluating all financial and facility operations, construction and business development. Carl also serves as New Members Orientation Coordinator and Teacher Training Facilitator. He has worked in accounting with several companies such as: Arthur Andersen & Co., Standard Oil Company and United Gas Pipe Line Company. Pastor Lavallais’ financial abilities will help the SkillsNET Foundation with analysis, strategic planning and business development.

Eddie Marsh
Eddie is the Executive Director of the Texas Baptist Home. He attended East Texas Baptist University and the BMA Seminary, and has been in full time pastoral ministry since 1973. Eddie has served on numerous not-for-profit Boards. Eddie is an advocate for children and families. His efforts in the areas of church and donor relations have made the Texas Baptist Home financially stable. He is well respected in the faith-based community as well as the child welfare arena. His work experiences and his community involvement are assets to the Foundation Board.    

Ted Johnson, President/Executive Director
Ted spent 25 years as a social worker and administrator. As Executive Director of Texas Baptist Home for Children, a child and family agency, he led the development of innovative and effective programs to meet the needs of at-risk children and families. He started a program to provide housing, job training, parenting education, and life skills development to single mothers and their children. He also worked with the Waxahachie school district and local Juvenile Probation Department to start an alternative school program for at-risk youth. During this time, he managed federal and state funding for the various programs. He is a part-time Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Dallas Baptist University where he teaches Introduction to Sociology, Social Work, and Social Problems. He has served on numerous Boards for child welfare causes. He graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with a Master of Science Degree in Social Work.
