SkillsNET Services

SkillsNET’s applications facilitate large scale, skill-based job analysis. This is accomplished by providing an organized and systematic process for the employees to use when describing their jobs and the skills required for performing their jobs. The process is simplified by using several data collection and validation web-based applications to identify essential skills and competencies, map a career development and professional growth plan, provide learning opportunities, and create a means of on-going evaluation and development. When this model is implemented and followed, the organization can expect results in the following areas:

  • improved productivity
  • development of new skills
  • overcoming barriers to emerging technologies
  • improved communication and interpersonal skills
  • mastering management challenges

SkillsNET will train selected agency staff to perform the following tasks in support of the occupational analysis effort:

  • educate staff about the uses and benefits of the occupational analysis
  • explain the process steps and assist with data input from job incumbent and management
  • help to refine and develop systems to support all competency applications
  • communicate general information and support for the project
  • generate and disseminate report from the databases after completion of analysis
  • support the outcome assessment effort, measure the impact of the occupational analysis, and assessing needed changes and refinements
  • communicate with management throughout process
  • oversee the continued development and implementation of the occupational analysis
